When mechanical switches "hit bottom" they produce a distinct clicking noise that mechanical keyboards are famous for. Different switches reach different levels of noise, but there is no question that all mechanical keyboards are loud - much louder than their digital counterparts. If you are playing video games and chatting at the same time, or register while typing, the click sound will invariably end up on the recording. That sound is also quite annoying for anyone in the room with you while you type.
To get around this, you can get a set of O-Ring switch dampers. They attenuate the noise of the switch and key cover and make your typing experience even quieter. They also change how the keys feel to the touch as you type, softening the hit. We have a couple of damper varieties to choose from, perfect for maximum keyboard customization.
