With the Gateron switches, Glorius PC Gaming Race has developed interchangeable key switches for its GMMK (Glorius Modular Mechanical Keyboard). They are particularly easy to use there, but of course they can also be used on other keyboards or DIY projects.
The Gateron switches are compatible with SMD LEDs and can be illuminated through the transparent housing. Thanks to the MX (+) connection, the switches can also be used in keyboards equipped with Cherry MX switches. To ensure the highest possible compatibility, Cherry MX keycaps are also compatible. With a lifespan of 50 million keystrokes, the Gateron switches are very durable.
The typing experience of the Gateron switches is very pleasant, as the switches are much smoother and yet more tactile. This enables a completely new typing and gaming experience. The Gateron switches bring significant improvements to the (still) market-dominating Cherry switches.
Gateron Brown switches are a compromise between a pure gaming keyboard and an ideal writing keyboard. The switches have a low trigger pressure of 45 g and tactile feedback - you can feel the triggering of the button. Since you can feel the switching points that are close together, you can write very well with Gateron Brown switches. Thanks to the short travel distance, you can also press keys quickly, which is important for gamers. When triggered, the Brown Switches also give a quiet acoustic feedback, which is, however, much quieter than the Blue or Green Switches.
